Your Why Gives You Direction

Your why is what keeps you grounded when things get difficult.

A few years ago, somebody asked me a simple question:

"Why do you do what you do?"

Not what I do. Not how I do it.

Why.

And honestly… I struggled to answer.

I could explain the work. The goals. The vision.

But when it came to putting my purpose into one clear sentence, I realized I had never really slowed down long enough to define it.

That moment changed something for me.

Because when your "why" is unclear, life starts feeling random.

You stay busy… but not always intentional. You move… but without real direction.

Your why is what keeps you grounded when things get difficult.

It's what keeps you focused when results are slow. It's what reminds you why you started when quitting feels easier.

Without a strong why, people burn out quickly.

But when your purpose is clear, your decisions become clearer too.

That's why I believe everybody should be able to explain their purpose simply.

Not with fancy words. Not with a long speech.

Just one honest sentence.

Simple enough that anybody could understand it.

For me, my why is this:

"To help people discover their purpose and become who they were created to be."

That sentence guides everything I do.

The way I lead. The way I serve. The way I build.

And maybe the reason some people feel stuck isn't because they lack talent…

Maybe they just haven't clearly defined their why yet.

Take some time and ask yourself:

"What is the deeper reason behind what I do?"

Because once your why becomes clear… your next step usually does too.

Until next time,
Don
