When I think back on some of the hardest seasons of my life, I don't always remember the advice people gave me.
I remember who showed up.
The people who checked on me. The people who stayed present. The people who reminded me I wasn't carrying everything alone.
They didn't always have answers. They didn't always know what to say.
But they were there.
And honestly, that mattered more than anything else.
Sometimes we underestimate how powerful simple presence can be.
In a world where everybody is busy, distracted, and rushing through life, showing up for people has become rare.
And rare things matter.
Showing up doesn't always require some huge gesture.
Sometimes it looks like:
Sending a simple text just to check in
Listening without trying to immediately fix everything
Remembering something somebody shared weeks ago and following up
Supporting someone even when it's inconvenient
Saying, "I may not have the answers, but I'm here."
That kind of presence stays with people.
Because at the end of the day, most people don't need perfection.
They need support. Connection. Consistency. To know somebody genuinely cares.
And I've noticed something over the years:
The people who consistently show up for others usually never walk through life alone themselves.
Not because relationships are transactional…
But because the energy you pour into people has a way of coming back around.
So be the person who shows up.
Your presence may mean more to somebody than you realize.
Until next time,
Don
