What Keeps Me Going When I Want to Quit

Purpose isn't always confirmed by applause — sometimes it's confirmed by obedience.

There have been seasons when the only thing keeping me moving wasn't momentum.

It wasn't motivation.

It wasn't results.

It certainly wasn't certainty.

It was something much deeper.

Because if I'm honest, there have been days when the numbers weren't growing, the opportunities weren't coming, and the progress I was hoping for felt completely invisible. Days when it would've been easier to convince myself that maybe this wasn't working after all.

Those are the days that reveal what you're really standing on.

For me, the foundation has always been my faith.

Not because faith removes hard seasons—it doesn't.

Not because it guarantees success—it doesn't.

But because it reminds me that purpose isn't measured by what I can see today.

Long before I had evidence that my work was making a difference, I carried a conviction that refused to leave me alone.

I believe I was created to help people see themselves differently.

To remind people that they are not defined by their past, their failures, or the labels life has handed them.

To help people discover purpose, build confidence, and believe that their best days are still ahead of them.

That conviction has survived every season I've questioned myself.

It's survived disappointment.

It's survived slow progress.

It's survived criticism.

It's survived the mornings when I stared at a blank screen wondering if anything I wrote actually mattered.

Because every time I've questioned whether I should continue, something happens.

A message from someone who says, "I needed this today."

A conversation with someone whose perspective changed.

A reminder that I may never fully know the impact of simply showing up consistently.

Those moments have taught me something I'll never forget.

Purpose isn't always confirmed by applause.

Sometimes it's confirmed by obedience.

One prayer has carried me through more seasons than I can count.

"God, use me."

Not when everything is perfect.

Not when I feel qualified.

Not when I have all the answers.

Just...use me.

Looking back, I can honestly say He always has.

Not always in the ways I expected.

Rarely on the timeline I wanted.

But always with more purpose than I could have planned on my own.

I've learned that everyone needs an anchor.

Something deeper than motivation.

Deeper than goals.

Deeper than recognition.

Because motivation comes and goes.

Success has highs and lows.

People's opinions change.

But your deepest conviction—the reason you believe you were put here—can carry you through seasons where nothing else will.

Protect that conviction.

Write it down.

Return to it often.

Especially on the days you wonder whether it's worth continuing.

Because the vision that inspired you to begin is often the same vision that gives you the strength to finish.

When everything around you feels uncertain, don't follow your emotions. Follow your conviction. It already knows where you're going.

What's the belief, prayer, or conviction that keeps you moving when life gets hard? Have you ever written it down—or are you trying to carry it only in your head?

Until next time,
Don
