Someone recently told me, "I don't know what life has in store for me, and it scares me."
I had to pause, because I've asked myself that same question before. But instead of answering, I asked them a question in return—one I believe we all should ask ourselves:
"What do I have in store for life?"
That's a mind-shifting question. Most people believe life is in control, that we're just passengers along for the ride. But here's the truth: you have the power to direct your life.
Sure, life throws curveballs—but there isn't a pitcher in history whose curveball hasn't been hit.
The key is intention. Don't just ask life what it will hand you—tell it what you want. Be specific. Be bold. Be intentional. Life will adjust to your demands when you stand firm in your decisions.
Most people have been conditioned to accept whatever life decides to throw at them. And that's exactly why so many live unfulfilled lives.
A mentor once told me something I'll never forget: "If you want to live a successful life, look at what the majority of people are doing—and do the exact opposite."
At the time, I didn't fully get it. But now? Man, do I ever!
It's time to stop waiting for life to happen and start shaping it with purpose.
Take a moment today to ask yourself: What do I have in store for life?
Until next time,
Don
