It's easy to listen to people who already agree with you.
People who think like you. See life like you. Believe the same things you believe.
That feels comfortable.
But comfort doesn't always lead to growth.
Some of the biggest lessons in life come from conversations with people who see things differently.
Not because you suddenly agree with everything they say… but because different perspectives can sharpen your thinking.
Growth happens when you learn how to listen without immediately becoming defensive.
Instead of thinking: "How can they believe that?"
Try asking: "What experiences shaped their perspective?"
That doesn't mean you have to agree with them.
It just means you're mature enough to listen and learn.
You can disagree with someone's opinion without disrespecting them as a person.
And sometimes, even in viewpoints you strongly disagree with, there's still something valuable you can take away.
Wise people don't grow by living in an echo chamber.
They grow by staying open enough to learn from different voices, different experiences, and different perspectives.
That kind of mindset stretches you. Strengthens you. Makes you a better leader and a better person.
Because growth doesn't only happen outside your comfort zone physically… Sometimes it happens outside your comfort zone mentally too.
Until next time,
Don
